Lady Gaga at CES: Camera Glasses, Anyone?

Last year’s appearance by pop star Lady Gaga–who inked a deal with Polaroid to become a creative director for a specialty line of products–generated quite a press scrum at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show. Now the company plans to show off early fruits of that collaboration at an event later Thursday.

The GL20 Camera Glasses will be available later this year, at a price to be announced, Polaroid says.

Only Lady Gaga could create a hybrid that’s part fashion statement, part revolutionary technology and part tool for self-expression,” the company says in its marketing materials.
The GL20 Camera Glasses will be available later this year, at a price to be announced, Polaroid says.
Among other items in the GL line–GL stands for “grey label”–the first to arrive is slated to be a portable printer that can quickly make Polaroid-style paper copies of photos shot on a digital camera. The Polaroid GL10 printer is expected to be available in April with a suggested price of $149.99, the company says.
The other gadget being announced is a digital camera that is styled to look like some of the models from the company’s historic line of instant cameras. It comes with a mobile printer built in.
That device, which Polaroid calls the GL30, is expected to arrive in the third or fourth quarter. Pricing has not been set.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is scheduled to appear later at Polaroid’s booth. Expect another crowd.
